Monday Night RAW Tonight

Well, like I always say, it's Monday Night again and along with it comes the Monday Night RAW: an exciting spell of entertaining wrestling along with its cooked up story based fights.

Many think RAW to be wastage of time - ye s it is wastage of time if you are looking for real raw wrestling. But at RAW, everything is so planned to create thrill and entertaining value of the show. This is what WWE stands for: World Wide Entertainment not World Wide Wrestling it once used to be. 

The Monday Night RAW comes live from Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, Virginia, USA. The show commences 9 p.m. ET time on USA on Monday, 21 May. But for the rest of the world it will be shown on Monday/Tuesday night on 22 May at 01:00 GMT. So while it is Monday Night RAW for the USA, it is Tuesday Night RAW for the rest.

The concept of having national parks around the world first developed with the establishment of the Yellowstone National Park in the Wyoming state of the USA in 1872. , although it also extends into Montana and Idaho. 

The Yellowstone National Park abounds in nature and natural beauty and one is amazed and dazed to find so much gifts of the nature at one place. The park is specially famous for its huge water falls, extremely diverse wildlife, flora and many geothermal features, especially Old Faithful Geyser, one of the most popular features in the park. It may be added here that half of the world's geothermal features are in Yellowstone, fueled by this ongoing volcanism.

The park is spread over a vast land mass of  3,468.4 square miles (8,983 km2), and has numerous lakes, canyons, rivers and mountain ranges. Yellowstone Lake is one of the largest high-altitude lakes in North America and is centered over the Yellowstone Caldera, the largest super volcano on the continent.

Water falls of numerous sizes and heights are in found in abundance. The roaring water falls from these falls with enormous speed and in unimaginable quantities.

The park provides unique opportunities to the visitors, specially children, to see animals in their original habitat - but one is cautioned to observe caution signs wherever displayed to avert any danger from wild animals.

Numerous water streams are haven for fishing lovers and do find some fresh water fish which the women cook right away on the traveling stoves - there is nothing better than a freshly baked fish and that too under heavenly environment of the Nature.

One is really amazed and awe stricken to find beautiful hues of sand, which are specific to the Yellowstone park. Yellowstone has numerous recreational opportunities, including hiking, camping, boating, fishing and sightseeing. Paved roads provide close access to the major geothermal areas as well as some of the lakes and waterfalls. 

Grizzly Bears, wolves, and free-ranging herds of bison and elk live in the park.

Watch the Super Bowl XLVI Online

Good news for fans of the Super Bowl !!

For the first time ever, you can watch Super Bowl 46 live, online 

Super Bowl XLVI between the American Football Conference (AFC) champion New England Patriots and the National Football Conference (NFC) champion New York Giants to decide the National Football League (NFL) champion for the 2011 season. 

It will be the 42nd annual championship game of the modern-era NFL and is scheduled to be played Sunday, February 5, 2012, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. Kickoff time is scheduled for approximately 6:30 p.m. EST. 

This will be the first Super Bowl to be played in Indianapolis, and the first time in the history of the game it will be played in consecutive years in a retractable roof stadium. 

This will also be only the fourth time that the Super Bowl is played in a cold-weather city, after Detroit's hosting of XVI and XL as well as Minneapolis's hosting of XXVI. 

Downtown Indianapolis, the home of Lucas Oil Stadium, will feature an outdoor Super Bowl Village and other programs at the Indiana Convention Center.

A rare video - Jacqueline Kennedy's visit to Pakistan

Jacqueline Kennedy, the USA's first lady visited Pakistan in 1962 on a state visit. She was heartily welcomed wherever she went and was received with open hands. Herein under is a rare video of her visit, composed of short clips of her visit to the famous Khyber Pass and the Torkham Border between Pakistan and Afghanistan, the Horse and Cattle Show in Lahore, a reception to her by the citizens of Lahore in the famous Shalimar Gardens. 

She is also seen riding the camel of famous Bashir Sarban, of whom I wrote about in details awhile ago when he was picked by the visiting American vice president Johnson and who later invited him on a state visit of the USA. Seen in the video are the president of Pakistan Muhammad Ayub Khan and also Malik Amir Muhammad Khan, the powerful governor of West Pakistan in his typical sherwani and turban and curled mustaches, conducting the tour of Jacqueline Kennedy. The governor also presented a beautiful horse named "Sardar (Chief)" to the distinguished guest during the annual Horse and Cattle Show which was held on 23rd March every year at Lahore.


It may be mentioned here that President Kennedy himself was allergic to any kind of animal hair, including that of the horses. But despite that for the love of his wife and later his daughter Caroline, he encouraged them horse riding. Jackie later nicknamed Sardar as Black Jack.

I found this video just by chance on YouTube and am truly grateful to HelmerReenberg for sharing this rare and historical video on YouTube as many would not have seen this before. And for those who were there at the time of this historical visit, this video will bring back their nostalgic memories.

What Did You Learn Today?

It was long time back that I came across a one page article in the Readers’ Digest that left a profound effect on me to learn and be a better man every day. The article was about a man who had six children and an illiterate wife. As the children were growing, the man thought their learning may depress their illiterate mother for not knowing anything. So he came up with a novel idea. One day after the dinner, he announced that from the next day onward after dinner, every child would tell others one new thing that he/she learnt that day. So from then on, every night, each child would come up with a new word, new technology news or where the Devil’s Tower was (by clicking on the link, you will learn a new thing if you hadn't known it before). So in the process not only all the children added one new thing to their vocabulary, the man himself learnt something new (if he hadn’t known it before) and so did his illiterate wife (and so did you perhaps by knowing today where the Devil’s Tower is, if you hadn’t known it before). Thus without making it a formal education for his wife, a he created a forum of learning for his wife. It was long after the death of her husband, did the children confide with her the real philosophy behind their daily exercise of learning a new thing.

I learnt two things from that article, One: Do not keep a new thing that I learn to be kept to myself. It should be shared so that others know it. Two: If you think someone is ignorant or illiterate, make a novel effort to make him learn he doesn’t know before. If we keep doing this, not our own learning improves (for trying to find out new things) but also our sharing of knowledge gets an audience in a bid to spreading the knowledge to those who cannot read or have no access to books or libraries.

Try it – it will be both fun and soul satisfying.
