Pakistan humiliates India by a 180 runs victory in ICC Champions Trophy final

What a great display of cricket by Pakistan cricket team today at The Oval, London when they beat India to win the ICC Cricket Champions Trophy 2017 by 180 runs.
Batting first, the Pakistani batsman showed their resilience against Indian bowlers and were undeterred to keep scoring without any fear. Fakhar Zaman (picture above) showed his mettle by scoring a ton and made 113 before being caught. Babar played well too but could not complete his half century and was caught at 46.

Hafeez and Imad were at crease when Hafeez hit sixes in plenty to take the score to 338 in 50 overs.

Coming to bat, two Indian fortresses fell for nothing, Sharma was LBW right on the second ball of the first over. Kohli the next man in was dropped at slip but was caught right on the next ball - both fortresses fell by superb bowling of Amir. But then there was no end - all major batsmen fell without crossing 30s. It was only Pandya, a bowler, who stood to his ground and scored 76 before being run out. India was all out for 158 in 33.3 overs.

Amir and Hassan took three wickets each, while Shadab took two wickets. Hassan also received the Golden Ball award for bagging most wickets throughout the tournament. He dismissed 13 players. He was also declared as the Player of the Tournament. Fakhar Zaman was declared the Man of the Match for his superb century (113).
Pakistan this won the final by 180 runs - a superb win over India which had unleashed a immense propaganda all over the media to downplay Pakistan. But Pakistan played a superb match and won over the arch rival Indians and won their first ever ICC Trophy Championship.

Djokovic vs Murray: Australian Open Men's Singles Final | Watch Live Free Streaming - 27 January

The first Grand Slam of the year 2013 comes to an end with the final of the men's singles event between world no.1 and the defending champion Novak Djokovic from Serbia and world no.3 Andy Murray of Great Britain. The final will be played Sunday, 27 January at the Rod Laver Arena.

Djokovic won  the 2012 Australian Open title beating Spaniard Rafael Nadal 5–7, 6–4, 6–2, 6–7(5–7), 7–5 in the longest Grand Slam final in the Open era, successfully defending his 2011 title. The 2012 title is the third Australian Open victory for Djokovic.

For the Olympic and US Open champion Andy Murray, this is his first final of the Australian Open and would like to make his presence felt here as he did in the Olympics and rid his country of a long spell of 74 years of the Grand Slam like title. Murray overpowered world no.2 Roger Federer in the semis 6-4 6-7(5) 6-3 6-7(2) 6-2. Murray and Djokovic are of the same age, hence there is no 'aging' problem here as was against Federer who is now 31.

Sunday's encounter between the two will be their 8th since they first met at Madrid in 2006. Of the previous 17 encounters, Djokovic has a winning edge of 10-7 over Murray.

Murray beat Djokovic in his first Grand Slam victory at the US Open 2012, while Djokovic beat Murray at ATP London in the round Robbin phase.

Both Murray and Djokovic are in their best form - however Djokovic lost one of his last ten matches against Tomic at Hopman Cup, Murray has won all of his ten matches.

For tomorrow, Djokovic is defending his title for the fourth time and two titles in a row, while Murray is playing his first Australian Open final. It will be interesting to watch tomorrow's finals and see whether Murray is able to clinch the title from Djokovic or the Serbian wins it for the fourth time.

The match is scheduled at 09:30 GMT Sunday, 27 January at Rod Laver Arena.

Victoria Azarenka vs Li Na: Watch Live Free Streaming |Australian Open - Women's Singles Final 26 January

The final of the 2013 title of women's singles between the world no.1 and the defending champion Victoria Azarenka from Belarus and world no.6 Chinese Li Na takes place Saturday tomorrow at the Rod Laver Arena.

Azarenka advanced to the Australian Open final by defeating American Sloane Stephens 6-1, 6-4, who at the age of 20 years dared to knock out world no.3 fellow American Serena Williams in the quarters.

As for Li Na, she made another upset of the tournament when she beat world no.2 Maria Sharapova 6-2, 6-2 - a match score that Sharapova or even Li would not have expected at all, as Sharapova was the heavy favorite after conceding only nine games in her first five matches, a record at the Australian Open.

For Li, it is her second final at the Melbourne Park - she lost the final in 2011 against Kim Clijsters, but became the first Chinese to have the honour of reaching the Australian final.

The match is scheduled at 08:30 GMT Thursday, 26 January at Rod Laver Arena.

Watch the quest for Gold: Serena vs Sharapova Live Free Streaming | Olympics Tennis Ladies Final - 4 August

So it is finally decided that either recently crowned Wimbledon champion 4th ranked American Serena William or the French Open title winner 3rd ranked Russian Maria Sharapova will get the Olympic gold medal in the ladies' single event of Olympic tennis.

Maria Sharapova beat fellow Russian Maria Kirilenko in an easy semi final run over 6-2, 6-3. This is the first time Sharapova is playing in the Olympics. Sharapova got unlucky when she was ousted from the Wimbledon race in the very early stage.

Five times Wimbledon champion Serena moved to the final after beating the world no.1 Belorussian Victoria azarenka 6-1, 6-2. The win seemed too easy for Serena as world no.1 seemingly offered no resistance to the Wimbledon queen.

Serena is in run to grab a bagful of gold, as after Saturday's final, she is also to play the doubles final alongwith her sister Venus, who earlier crashed out of the ladies' single event race. But that is if the two win over Russia’s Maria Kirilenko and Nadia Petrova in the semifinals to play against the Czech duo Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka. It may be added that the William sisters have twice won the gold in doubles in Olmpics 2000 and 2008.

As for Saturday's singles final, this the 11th encounter of the two ladies since they first played each other in Miami 2004. Of the ten previous encounters, Serena has an upper edge of 8-2 over the Russian. In fact Serena has beaten Sharapova consecutively seven times in their last ten encounters.

The equation makes Serena favourite for the Olympic title this year, lest Sharapova surprises the American with her game today. It may be added that both ladies have never won a gold at Olympics before, so the quest for gold is equally important for both Serena and Sharapova.

The ladies' single Olympic tennis final  is scheduled for saturday, 4 August 2012 at 14:00 GMT at the Centre Court of Wimbledon.

Watch Historic Wimbledon Final: Andy Murray vs Roger Federer Live Free Streaming | Sunday 8 July 2012

The day comes Sunday, 8 July 2012 when two players play against each other in a bid to make history.

British Andy Murray [above] vs Swiss Roger Federer [below]
Two men aspiring to make history at Wimbledon Final 2012
World no. 3 Swiss Roger Federer who has marched into the men's singles event final of Wimbledon for the eighth time has his eyes fixed at the coveted Wimbledon title for the seventh time and equal the record already held by British William Renshaw and American Pete Sempras.

Federer already hold 16 Grand Slam titles but has been starved of any in the past almost two and a half years, mostly sidelined by Novak Djokovic and Rafeal Nadal. This time Nadal threat was eliminated as early as in the second set and Djokovic was ousted from the race in the semi final by Federer himself. Now Scot Andy Murray stands in his way to bag the Wimbledon title for the seventh time.

Andy Murray has lot to be proud of, for he has ensured his maiden entry into the Wimbledon final - and not only this he is just one step closer to bring his country's long wait of 74 years to win the championship since Bunny Austin in 1938.

Both players are meeting for the 16th time since they first met in Bangkok 2005 and you know what? andy Murray has won 8 of the 15 matches aganst Federer. Andy last beat Federer at Shanghai 2010, while Federer beat Andy in last two matches they played at London 2010 and Dubai 2012.

Well as for the final this Sunday, Roger Federer six years elder to Murray, stands as hot favourite, despite all the London standing behind Andy Murray.

The match is scheduled for Sunday 8 July 2012 at the Centre Court

Wimbledon Ladies's Singles Final: Radwanska vs Serena - - 7 July | Two Ladies Eying a place in History

Saturday, 7th July is the day when world no.3 Polish Agnieszka Radwanska steps on the Wimbledon Centre Court for the first time and becomes the first Polish player to play a Grand Slam final in 73 years when Jadwiga Jedrzejowska lost in the women's title match at the French Championships in 1939.

Radwanska can become the world no.1 player if she can stop 6th ranked American Serena Williams from winning the Wimbledon title for the fifth time - and win it for herself for the first time.

Serena, who has been to the Centre Court playing the final seven times before, is now aspiring for a name in Wimbledon history to have won the title FIVE times - an honour already shared by British Charlotte Cooper Sterry and British Lottie Dod, both of the Amateur Era, and of course Serena's sister Venus Williams.

Venus last won the Wimbledon title in 2008 beating sister Serena Williams - Serena clinched the title from Venus the following year.

Radwanska has met Serena twice at Berlin 2008 and Wimbledon 2008 in the fourth time, losing both times to the American.

Serena moved to the finals in amach between former world nos.1, herself and Victoria Azarenka beating her 6-3, 7-(6). Radwanska beat 8th ranked German Anglique Kerber 6-3, 6-4.

Now it is between two aspiring women: One eyeing her first Grand Slam title ever and for her country since 1939 and the other eyeing to hold the Venus Rosewater Dish for the fifth time. Whoever wins, goes down in history.

Watch this crucial and history making final on Saturday 7 July on the Centre Court.

Italy vs Spain: Who will win UEFA Euro 2012 Final | Kiev 1 July 2012

The UEFA Euro 2012 football final between defending champion Spain and Italy is just  day away now. The final between the two will be played after a colorful closing ceremony at the Olympic Stadium, Kiev, Ukraine.

UEFA Euro 2012 Final, Olympic Stadium, Kiev: Italy vs Defending Champion Spain [wallpaper courtesy: OleOle ]

The defending champion Spain should be thankful to their stars as the Portuguese gave them the toughest resisitance on earth during their semi final match. With two teams remaining goal-lee in the prescribed time, could not decide even the extra time. It was only in the penalties that Spain won 4-2. By all accounts and analyses, Spain played a rather dull and boring game, unworthy of a world and defending champion.

On the other hand, Italy stood true to their traditions of never losing a major tournament and stunned Germany by a 2-1 win. Germans, which were highly and hotly favourites, with no one taking side of the Italians, looked rather over confident rather than presenting a game of some worth. The paid the price for the dullness and inactivity and lost.

Now who will win?

Well Spain, though marched into the finals by mere luck and chance, have not lost 19 matches they have played since 1-0 loss to Switzerland in 2010 World Cup. They also have players like Iker Casillas, Andres Iniesta, Xavi Hernandez, Fernando Torres, Cesc Fabregas, Santi Cazorla, Xabi Alonso, Sergio Ramos and David Silva featured in the Euro 2008 finals, playing for them tomorrow's final - this is something unique as hardly any other player has played two Euro finals.

On the other hand, Itlay has not won many games, but they haven't lost in any major tournament either, something that over-awed the Germans and made them lose in semis. Italy has Mario Balotelli, who not only became the second Italy player to score twice in one Euro match, he also became the only player to have scored three goals in a single European Championship tournament, equal to Antonio Cassano's national record at all Euro finals he has played. It was Balotelli who scored the decisive two goals to oust the Germans from Euro 2012 race.

So who then?

Well Italy lost to Spain in a penaltry shoot out in the quarters of Euro 2008 - but that was four years ago. Today, Italy has the best defensive record in qualifying, conceding only two goals in eight games. and remember, Spain barely made it to final against Portugal in the semis, while Italy beat Germany with two solid goals.

Let us keep our fingers crossed then, with Italy as favourite and watch the UEFA Euro 2012 final between defending champion Spain and Italy, scheduled for Sunday, 1 July 2012 at 18:45 GMT

Watch Live Djokovic vs Nadal: A history Making Roland Garros Final 10 June

Updated 10th June: Match moved over to Monday at 11:00 GMT due to rain (with Nadal leading: 6-4 6-3 2-6 1-2) - Links for free live streaming remain the same as given below:

So it is all set for the clash of the titans - World No.1 Serbian Djokovic playing against second seeded World no.3 Spaniard defending champion Rafael Nadal in the history making final of Roland Garros, Sunday  10 June, 2012.

For Nadal, it is a history making match as no one has ever before won the French Open seven times. For the Serb, it is again a history making event  as a win against Nadal will allow him to have four Grand Slam titles at the same time - and become the third man in the history of tennis to hold all gour rand Slams at one time. The record was last set in 1969 by Rod Laver.

In his semi final against Roger Federer, the Serb did not seem to have any difficulty Friday in over powering World no.2 Swiss Roger Federer and ensure his ouster from Paris 6-4, 7-5 and 6-3.

Federer, who had already predicted that it would be Nadal again this year to hold the Roland Garros title silverware moved out to pave way for the Spaniard.

Nadal and Djokovic have along career list of duels since they first met in French Open quarters in 2006, which was won over by Nadal as the Serb retired after losing two sets 6-4, 6-4.

The match is scheduled on Sunday 10 June 2012 at 13:00 GMT on Court Philippe Chatrier.

Watch Live Sharapova vs Errani : Roland Garros Women Single Final 9 June 2012

Maria Sharapova's dream of completing her career Grand Slam is just a day away when she plays against Italian Sara Errani in the women single's final of Roland Garros on Saturday, 9 June 2012.

Roland Garros women Single Final: Two aspiring contestants - Sharapova [top], Errani [below]
Sharapova defeated Petra Kvitova 6-3, 6-3 in the Roland Garros semifinal. She now needs a victory over 21st-seeded Sara Errani, who beat No. 6 Australian Samantha Stosur 7-5, 1-6, 6-3, to become the 10th woman to win all four major tournaments.

Sharapova has never played Errani before and this will be her unique experience meeting someone she has not played before in a Grand Slam final. Sharapova, however, is in her best form for having won all of her last eleven matches played.

Errani on the other hand has won her recent six matches, the last against the Australian Stosur. Errani perhaps never expected a victory over the Australian, who was otherwise hot favourite in the semi against Errani. Errani was overwhelmed when she won over Stosur and weepingly remarked: “I have no words, it is incredible.”

Now the clash of femlae titans on Saturday would be worth watching: Sharapova aspiring to complete her career Grand Slam and become the 10th woman to win all four major tournaments, and Errani for wininng her first Grand Slam title.

Let us not forget to watch the Roland Garros women single's final and see whose dream comes true at Paris.

The match is scheduled for Saturday, 9 June 2012 on Court Philippe Chatrier at 13:00 GMT.

Talk of 2011 and it was Barcelona which dominated all major championships of the year. The lifted the silverware of the Spanish Super Cup and the UEFA SuperCup.They even won the FIFA Club World Cup in the last days of the December 2011.

But then something bad happened when year 2012 dawned - there stood FC Barcelona stripped of all of its well earned titles of 2011 and as of today, they retain none. Besides, they’ve lost forward David Villa and defenders Carles Puyol and Eric Abidal to injury.

However, they have made a desparate effort in the Spain Copa del Rey to reach its final Friday tonight and ae pitched against Athletic Bilbao. A win tonight is therefore very crucial for the morale deficit Barca to again bring back some of its lost pride.

On the other hand,  Athletic Bilbao are in good shape - they went on to reach final of the UEFA Europa League, defeating Manchester United - but lost Atletico Madrid.Athletic Bilbao are on a five-game winless streak in all competitions and have failed to register on the scoresheet in all of those matches.

Watch Live Djokovic vs Nadal: Free Streaming ATP Rome Final

The Rome Open final between Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic has been re-scheduled to Monday due to heavy rain in Rome on Sunday.

So it is final now: Nadal has already qualified for the final beating fellow countryman Ferrero.

Would Djokovic defend his title? Nadal ponders!!
Now the world no.2 and the defending champion Novak Djokovic beats world no.2 Swiss Roger Federer 6-2, 7-6(4) Saturday-Sunday night and moves to the final to defend his title, Nadal has to be very assertive and resilient if he want to dominate the Serb.

Both Nadal and Djokovic have met 31 times before Sunday's title due and Nadal has a winning edge of 17-14 over the Serb. And of 13 matches of played on clay, Nadal has won all but two which were won over by Djokovic. Nadal last won on clay against Djokovic was at Monte Carlo 2012, and last lost to Djokovic here at Rome in 2011.

In the last ten matches played by both, the Serb has lost twice at the hands of Nadal at Monte Carlo and Tipsarevic at Madrid. Nadal on the other hand has lost once at Madrid at the hands of F. Verdasco.

So while Novak Djokovic will try to defend his title Sunday, Nadal would try to avenge the Blues of the blue clay of Madrid.

The final of Internazionali BNL d'Italia - Rome, Italy was scheduled for Sunday 20th May at 14:00 GMT, however due to rain at Rome Sunday afternoon, the match has now been re-scheduled for Monday, 21 May at 10:00 GMT

Watch Live Li vs Sharapova: Free Streaming WTA Rome Final

So finally the two names for the final of the  Internazionali BNL d'Italia / WTA Rome: Li and Sharapova!

Chinese Na Li [L] faces Defending Champion Sharapova[R] in WTA Rome Final Sunday
After the two semi finals of the day, the defending champion and world no.2 Russian Maria Sharapova and 9th ranked Chines Li triumph and will face each other Sunday 20 May 2012 in the women singles final of the  Internazionali BNL d'Italia.

Na Li could no play 6th ranked American Serena Williams, who was on a 17-matches clay court winning streak, as Serena Williams pulled out of the match owing to her lower back injury.

This provides Li Li an opportunity to contest for her first WTA title since winning her first Grand Slam title at the French Open last year.

Maria won her German Angelique Kerber to move into the final to defend her title.

Sharapova leads Li in their head-to-head series, 6-4, but it's very streaky. Sharapova won their first five matches in a row, followed by Li winning four matches in a row - and in their 10th meeting, their only 2012 meeting, it was Sharapova who won handily in the quarterfinals of Miami in March, 6-3 6-0.

So here are two ladies: one defending her title and the other all set to clinch it from her to win her first major title almost in a year.

The match is scheduled for Sunday, 20 May 2012 at 11:45 GMT.

Champions League Final between Chelsea - Bayern Munich : 19 May 2012

The exciting and fateful day finally arrives Sunday 19 May 2012 when Chelsea, the most unexpected team having reached the final of Champions League, meets Bayern Munich for the final show down.

When just before the quarterfinals, when everyone thought that either Real Madrid or Barcelona would make it to the final, the Blues dumped the 2-11 chapions Barcelona to make it to the finals. Bayern Munich, on the other hand, knocked out the Real Madrid to contest the Blues of the Champions League final.

Now that both Chelsea and Bayern Munich have made it to the final and come face to face on Sunday, many look for a surprise outcome of this showdown. However, if the London Blues win the Champions League, the win will grant them an automatic go through to next year's competition. This is something that the Spurs would never like as in such an eventaulity the Spurs, who finished in fourth spot in the Premier League, will be relegated to playing in the Europa League.

For the final, it is unfortunate that the Blues' captain Terry will not be playing on account of his red-card award in the semi final second leg against Barcelona. However, if Chelsea wins, he would be allowed to lift the silverware.

It may be noted that Chelsea knocked Bayern Munich out of the Champions League in the 2004/05 season. And may it also be said that this is the first final since 2007's game between Liverpool and AC Milan to not feature a league-winning side from their home country.

Probable Lineups:
Chelsea: Peter Cech, Ashley Cole, Michael Essien, Bosingwa, Frank Lampard, John MikelObi, Gary Cahill, Malouda, Salomon Kalou, Juan eyes, Didier Drogba.

Bayern Munich: Manuel Neuer, Jerome Boateng, Philipp Lahm, Rafinha, Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben, Anatoliy Tymoshchuk, Thomas Mueller, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Toni Kroos, Mario Gomez

The match will be palyed at the Munich's Allianz Arena on Sunday, 19 May 2012.

Saturday, May 12, 2012

Watch Azarenka vs Serena (WTA Madrid Final)

So here we are: The WTA Madrid is about to reach its logical conclusion as the women singles final between the World No.1 Victoria Azarenka and 9th seeded Serena Williams is being played Sunday, 13 May 2012.

World no.1 Azaranka [above top] meets Serena Williams [above bottom] in WTA Madrid Final Sunday

In the two semi finals that were played Saturday, 9th seeded American Serena Williams beat L. Hradecka 7-6, 6-0, while the World no.1 Victoria Azarenka beat A Radwanska 6-2, 6-4.

As for the track record, like Serena had an upper edge over Sharapova, she also enjoys an upper edge over Azarenka since 2008 as in the seven matche played since between the two, Serena has won six matches, while Azarenka won only once against Williams at Miami in 2009.

In the last ten matches played by the two, Serena has a clean 10-0 victory record, while Azarenka faultered twice against Sharapova at Stuttgart and against Bartoli at Miami earlier this year. Serena's last victory was against World No.2 Maria Sharapova in the quarter finals of the ongoing WTA Madrid 6-1, 6-3.

Both would be vying for a win on Sunday - more so Serena who has been away from the tennis scene for a while and would want to clinch the victory and lift the silver.

The match is scheduled for Sunday, 13 May May 2012, 11:30 GMT.

FA Cup Final: Chelsea v Liverpool - Saturday 5 May 2012

So the day has finally come - Liverpool facing Chelsea in the FA Cup final Saturday 5th May 2012.

After winning the Curling Cup, it is a prestige point for the Liverpool to win the FA Cup too Saturday - their second trophy of the year.

But it is also important for the Chelsea to win the trophy too - ahead of their Champions League final against Bayern Munich on 19 May. An error here may have far reaching ramification for the later event.

Liverpool and Chelsea are long time 'foes' and have faced each other 30 times since 2004-05 and Liverpool have won the last five encounters. although both Liverpool and Chelsea have met many times before, but never in FA Cup final, although they have met twice in the FA Cup semis and nine times in other matches of the FA Cup.

As for their individual appearance in the FA Cup finals, Blues have  played 10 finals, and won six, while the Reds have played 13 finals, winning seven.

So this peculiar and historical encounter is going to be interesting to watch.

Chelsea (Probable, 4-3-3): Cech; Bosingwa, Ivanovic, Terry, Cole; Lampard, Essien, Kalou; Malouda, Drogba, Mata.

Liverpool (probable, 4-4-2): Reina; Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, José Enrique; Kuyt, Gerrard, Spearing, Downing; Carroll, Suárez.

The match is scheduled for Saturday 5 May 2012 at the Wembley Stadium at 17:15 BST

WTA Stuttgart Final: Watch Azarenka vs Sharapova

At the WTA Stuttgate Final, two of the top women player, Azarenka and Sharapova will collide for the gold on Suday 29th April.

Since 2009, this is the first time that the top four players in the world took part in the semi-finals of an event as Victoria Azarenka, Maria Sharapova, Petra Kvitova and Agnieszka Radwanska won their quarterfinal encounters to take part in the semifinals.

World No.1 Azarenka was the first to make the final, taking down world's No.4 Agnieszka Radwanska with no problem (6-1, 6-3) .

Whereas the second semifinal was much tougher in contrast with the first semi-final that went lika a breeze. No.2-ranked Sharapova showed her dominance over No.3-ranked Petra Kvitova in a minute short of two hours, 6-4 7-6(3).  Sharapova actually broke at 5-all in the second set and served for the match, even holding match point in that game, but ended up taking it in the breaker.

So let was wait and watch the final between the two at Stuttgart that is scheduled for Sunday 29 April 2012 at 16:30 GMT.
