True Living

Wisdom
Most of us remain dissatisfied with our lives, our job, our marriages and everything that matters to us one way or the other. But there are very few who find true meaning to their life and living. Ever seen people living in the gutters, with filthy environment and not even a semblance of amentias in existence around their abode? Yet you would find them laughing, making merry and enjoying their lives with what all little they could get. That’s happy living despite empty pockets.

This reminds me a story that I read long time back about a boy who wanted to act in his school drama and tried very hard to get selected. One day he came home excited with his eyes shining with pride. "Guess what Mom," he shouted, and then said those words that will remain a lesson for me and really drilled into my heart: "I've been chosen to clap and cheer." Even having been rejected the role he so very dearly wanted; he found happiness in his role that no one could rob off him. That gave him true happiness.

And that is what we all need most of the time when we choose to be sad and morose from our lives. Even gifted with so much, we tend not to be happy. If we look around, we find so many just like us with far lesser than we have, but still carrying on with their lives. If they could with so much less, why can’t we be with so much more than them?

We can’t have everything, but if just count what we have and others don’t, this should be just good enough to be happy. So be happy.
