Watch Federer - Berdych Showdown (ATP Madrid Final)

After Djokovic and Nadal were ousted of the ATP Madrid title race, Roger Federer sailed through successfully eliminating all hurdles en route to reach the final and is all set to win the crown for a possible third time, Sunday.

7th ranked Czech Berdych [L] faces World no.3 Roger Federer [R] in ATP Madrid Men's singles final
The world no.3 Swiss Roger Federer faces 7th ranked Czech Tomas Berdych, who beat 10th seed Juan Martin Del Potro 7-6(5), 7-6(6). The 26-year-old Czech will attempt to win his 8th ATP World Tour title on Sunday.

Both Federer and Berdych have met 14 times before with Federer edging over the Czech 11-3 of wins. Federer last won over Berdych in ATP Paris 2011 6-4, 6-3, while Berdych won over Federer the same year at ATP Cincinnati 6-2, 7-6(3).

In the last ten matches played this year, Federer has lost only once against Roddick at Miami 7-6(4) 1-6 6-4, while Berdych has lost twice in 2012 at the hands of Djokovic at Monte Carlo and Dimitrov at Miami.

Seeing the Djokovic and Nadal surprised defeats, nothing much can be said of today's final, though Federer remains the hot favourite. However if Federer wins today, he may take place of Nadal's world no. 2 ranking.

The ATP Madrid men's single final is scheduled for Sunday, 13 May May 2012 at 14:30 GMT
